The short version: your images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded. Pixellin has no server that receives, stores or looks at your files. It couldn’t misuse them even if it wanted to.

How your files are handled

QuestionAnswer
Where are images processed? In your browser tab, using Web Workers, Canvas and WebAssembly codecs that are downloaded from pixellin.com like any other part of the page.
Are files uploaded? No. No Pixellin tool sends image data over the network.
Are files stored?Only in your browser’s memory while the tab is open. Removing a file, selecting Clear all or closing the tab releases it.
How long do temporary files exist? There are no server-side temporary files. One exception, on your device only: when you drop images on the homepage and then pick a tool, they’re passed to that tool page through your browser’s IndexedDB storage. They’re deleted the moment the tool page picks them up, and ignored after 10 minutes.
Are files used to train AI?No. We never receive them.
Are filenames or image details collected? No. If statistics are enabled and you allow them, events contain only the tool name, the file format and rounded size ranges (for example “1–5 MB”). They never include filenames or image content.

You can verify this

Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab and process an image. You’ll see codec files (such as .wasm) being downloaded the first time a format needs them, but no request that sends your image anywhere. Once a tool and its codecs have loaded, it keeps working even if you disconnect from the internet.

What we do collect

  • Hosting logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, time) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These logs contain page requests only, never image data.
  • Usage statistics (opt-in). Google Analytics 4 runs in Consent Mode with IP anonymization and advertising features off. Until you select “Allow statistics”, it sets no cookies and sends Google only cookieless, anonymous page pings. If you allow statistics, it also uses analytics cookies and records the anonymous tool events described above. You can change your choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
  • No advertising. No ad network is loaded on this deployment.

Storage on your device

  • localStorage: remembers your statistics choice, if statistics are enabled.
  • sessionStorage and IndexedDB: used briefly for the homepage-to-tool handoff described above.
  • Your browser’s cache: keeps page files and codecs so tools load faster next time.

Links to other sites

The EXIF viewer can show a link that opens a photo’s GPS location on OpenStreetMap. Nothing is sent to OpenStreetMap unless you click that link, and then only the coordinates in the link.

Children

Pixellin doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the tools don’t require or receive any.
