How it works

  1. 01Drop, choose or paste PNG files, including screenshots from your clipboard.
  2. 02Enter a width, height, exact size or percentage.
  3. 03Select Process; transparency is kept in every PNG.
  4. 04Save files one at a time, or select Download all for a ZIP.

Why use this tool

Transparency preserved

See-through areas stay transparent after resizing, so a logo still sits cleanly on any background color.

Lossless output

PNG stores pixels without lossy compression, so text and sharp edges don't pick up the blocky artifacts JPG can add.

Made for UI assets

Resize screenshots, icons and diagrams in one batch and keep every file as PNG.

Use cases

Logo for a site header

Your designer sent a 3000 px transparent logo. Resize it to 400 px wide so it loads quickly and still floats over the header color.

Screenshots for documentation

Bring 2560 px full-screen captures down to 1200 px so they fit a help article column without the browser shrinking them.

Store and app graphics

Produce the exact pixel sizes a marketplace or app listing asks for, keeping crisp edges and transparent areas intact.

Technical details

PNG is lossless: resizing changes the pixel grid, but saving the file doesn't add compression artifacts. Transparency, including soft semi-transparent edges, is resampled along with the colors, so anti-aliased logo edges stay smooth. Because pixels are stored without loss, text in screenshots stays readable as long as you don't shrink it below a legible size. Keep the original file too, because detail removed by shrinking can't be restored later.

Smaller dimensions mean a smaller PNG, but photos saved as PNG remain heavy because storing photographic detail losslessly takes a lot of space. If a resized PNG is still too big, Compress PNG reduces the color palette while keeping transparency, typically saving 50–80% on screenshots and graphics. Resized PNGs are converted to sRGB and don't keep metadata such as EXIF, so the file contains only the image itself.

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing a PNG keep the transparent background?

Yes. PNG supports transparency, and this tool keeps the output in PNG, so transparent and semi-transparent pixels stay that way. Only converting to JPG would replace transparency with a solid color, and that doesn't happen here.

Is PNG resizing lossless?

Saving is lossless, which means no compression artifacts are added. Resizing itself still changes the pixels: shrinking combines neighboring pixels into fewer ones. The result looks clean, but the original detail can't be recovered from the smaller file, so keep your original.

Why is my PNG still large after resizing?

PNG stores every pixel exactly, which is ideal for flat graphics but heavy for photos. A 1200 px photo saved as PNG can be several megabytes. For photos, consider JPG or WebP. For graphics, a PNG compressor that reduces the palette usually helps a lot.

Can I enlarge a small PNG icon?

You can turn off Don't enlarge smaller images, but enlarging only spreads existing pixels, so edges look soft. For icons, start from the largest source available, or from an SVG if one exists, and resize down.

How do I resize a screenshot to fit a document?

Paste the screenshot with Ctrl/Cmd+V, set the width to your document's column width in pixels and leave the height automatic. Select Process and download. Text stays crisp because PNG adds no compression blur.
