Cleaning up a mixed folder

Technical details
Each output format behaves differently. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color (white by default, or one you pick). PNG, WebP and AVIF keep transparency. JPG, WebP and AVIF have a quality slider with defaults of 90, 85 and 60. AVIF encoding is the slowest and can take a few seconds per large photo, but it runs in a background worker so the page stays responsive.
Some inputs have special rules. Animated GIF and WebP files convert only their first frame. Multi-page TIFF files convert the first page, and ICO files use the largest icon inside. SVG is rasterized at a width you set. HEIC needs a one-time ~3 MB decoder download unless your browser is Safari. Not sure which output to pick? See how to choose an image format for the web.
Your files stay with you

Frequently asked questions
Which format should I convert my images to?
Use JPG for photos that must open everywhere, PNG for screenshots, logos and anything needing exact pixels or transparency, and WebP or AVIF for websites where smaller files matter. AVIF is usually smallest but slower to encode.
Can I convert different file types in the same batch?
Yes. You can drop HEIC, PNG, TIFF, SVG and other files together. They all go to the single output format you choose. A batch can hold up to 200 files, each up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels.
Does converting keep EXIF data like the camera and location?
No. Converted files don’t carry EXIF metadata such as camera model, date taken or GPS. The orientation is applied to the pixels first, so photos stay upright, and colors are converted to sRGB.
What happens to animated GIFs?
Only the first frame is converted. The result is a still image in the format you choose. If you need to keep the animation and just make the file smaller, a GIF compressor is the better fit.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion uses Web Workers, Canvas and WebAssembly codecs inside your browser. The images stay in the tab’s memory until you remove them or close the tab, and nothing is used for AI training.
