Why use this tool

Readable on any photo

Outline and shadow options keep white text legible over bright skies and dark text legible over shadows.

Four font styles

Pick sans, serif, mono or rounded to suit a meme, a formal label or a playful card.

Precise placement

Choose one of nine positions, then nudge with an offset. Multiline text is supported.

Supported formats

Use cases

Memes and reaction images

Add bold white text with a black outline at the top and bottom of a photo, the classic look that reads at any size.

Labeled event photos

Stamp “Spring Fair 2026” in the same spot on a whole batch of photos before posting them to a school group.

Before-and-after labels

Put “Before” and “After” on renovation or repair photos so viewers can tell them apart when shared separately.

Technical details

Text is drawn onto the pixels, so it becomes part of the image and can’t be edited later. Keep your original if you might change the wording. The same text and settings apply to every image in a batch, which suits labels and captions but not unique text per photo. Check the preview of the first image, then confirm the placement suits the rest of the set. Use line breaks for multiline text, and the nudge offset to clear a face or logo. Outline and shadow matter more than color choice: over a busy photo, unoutlined text often becomes unreadable on small phone screens.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add different text to each image?

Not in one batch. The same text and settings are applied to every image you add. For unique captions, process each photo on its own, or group photos that share the same caption and run each group separately.

How do I make text readable on a busy photo?

Turn on the outline in a contrasting color, such as black around white text, or add a shadow. Increase the size a little, and use the position and nudge offset to place the text over a calmer part of the image.

Can I edit the text after downloading?

No. The text is merged into the image pixels, like paint on a print. To change it, go back to your original photo and add new text. Pixellin never modifies your original file, so it’s still available.

Can I write more than one line?

Yes. Multiline text is supported: add line breaks where you want them. All lines share the same font, size, color and effects, and they’re placed together at the position you choose.
