Why use this tool

Text or logo

Type a copyright line or use your own logo image, ideally a PNG with a transparent background.

Scales with each photo

Size is set relative to image width, so the mark looks proportionate on both portrait and landscape shots.

Your originals stay private

Unwatermarked files are exactly the ones you don’t want leaked. They’re processed in this tab, not on a server.

Supported formats

Use cases

Client proofs

Photographers can tile a semi-transparent studio name across proofs so clients can choose favorites without receiving usable final images.

Marketplace listings

Add a small corner logo to product photos so images copied to other listings still point back to your shop.

Shared documents

Mark photos of ID or rental paperwork with “For apartment application only” before sending them to a landlord or agent.

Technical details

Placement offers nine positions (corners, edges and center) plus a tiled mode that repeats the mark across the whole image. Size is a share of the image width, so the same setting produces a larger watermark on a 4000 px photo than on a 1000 px one, in proportion. Margin keeps a corner mark away from the edge. A logo with a transparent background blends best; a JPG logo brings its white box with it.

Be realistic about protection. A watermark deters casual reuse and keeps your name attached to an image, but it can’t make copying impossible: a corner mark can be cropped off, and a determined editor can paint out most marks. Tiled, semi-transparent marks over the subject are the hardest to remove cleanly. Keep your unmarked originals somewhere safe, since the watermark becomes part of the pixels and can’t be taken off the processed copy later. For the best balance, combine a visible mark with sharing smaller, lower-resolution copies.

Frequently asked questions

Can someone remove my watermark?

Yes, with enough effort. A corner watermark is easy to crop out; a tiled one across the subject is far harder to remove without visible damage. Watermarks discourage casual copying and credit you as the source, but nothing visible on an image can make copying impossible.

How do I add my logo as a watermark?

Choose the logo option and add your logo file. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result. Set the size relative to the photo width, pick a position or tiling, and lower the opacity until it’s visible but not distracting.

Can I watermark many photos at once?

Yes. Add up to 200 photos and the same watermark settings apply to all of them. Because size is relative to image width, the mark stays in proportion even when the batch mixes portrait and landscape shots or different resolutions.

What opacity should a watermark have?

For a corner credit, 50–70% opacity is easy to read without dominating. For tiled proof marks, 15–30% keeps the photo viewable while making it unusable as a final image. Check the live preview on a light and a dark area.
