Why use this tool

200 files per batch

Drop an entire folder’s worth of images at once. Each file can be up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels.

Mixed formats together

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and SVG can sit in the same batch. Each is compressed with the method that suits its format.

One ZIP download

Select Download all to save every compressed file in a single ZIP instead of clicking through hundreds of downloads.

Supported formats

Use cases

Event photo archives

Photographers and organizers can shrink hundreds of event photos before sharing a gallery or uploading to a club website with storage limits.

Moving a website’s media

Compress an exported media library of mixed JPGs, PNGs and GIFs before moving it to a new host or CMS.

Phone backup cleanup

Reduce a large camera-roll export so it fits on a smaller drive or within a cloud storage plan.

Technical details

This page is built for volume. A single batch holds up to 200 files, each up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels, and formats can be mixed: JPGs go through MozJPEG, PNGs are reduced to a smaller palette, WebPs are re-encoded at your chosen quality, GIFs keep their animation and SVGs are minified. Every file shows its own preview, original size, new size and percentage saved, and any single file can be removed or retried without restarting the batch.

Large batches take longer because every image is decoded and re-encoded on your own device, so a recent laptop moves through them faster than an older phone. For more than 200 files, process them in several rounds. Files that wouldn’t get smaller are kept unchanged and marked “Already optimized”, so the ZIP never contains bigger versions. On phones, Share / Save opens the system share sheet.

Your files stay with you

This tool runs entirely inside your browser using Web Workers and WebAssembly. Your images are never uploaded, never stored on a server and never used to train AI. Close the tab and they’re gone. Learn more

Frequently asked questions

Is there a difference between batch and bulk compression?

No. Both describe compressing many images in one go, and this page does exactly that. You add up to 200 files, choose your settings once, process them together and download the results as a single ZIP.

How many images can I compress at once?

Up to 200 files per batch, with a limit of 50 MB and 100 megapixels per image. If you have more, run several batches one after another. No account or installation is needed, since everything runs locally in your browser.

Can I compress a whole folder of photos?

Yes. Open the folder, select all the images and drag them onto the page, or use the file picker to choose them together. Each one is compressed, and Download all saves the whole set as a ZIP.

Can I mix JPG, PNG and GIF files in one batch?

Yes. Mixed batches are supported. Each file stays in its own format and is compressed with the method that suits it, so photos, transparent graphics, animations and SVG icons can all be processed together.

Is it safe to bulk compress private photos here?

The photos are never uploaded. Hundreds of files are decoded and encoded inside your browser tab, and no copy exists on any server. Closing the tab clears them from memory, which suits family archives and client work.
